Filipa Raposo was born in 1979 in Lisbon, Portugal.

 

After four years studying painting in the Universidade de Belas Artes in Lisbon, she moved to Berlin in 2003.

 

From 2003 to 2006 she studied Fine Arts at the Universität der Künste zu Berlin (UdK-Berlin) with Leiko Ikemura and Stan Douglas.

 

In 2006 she obtained her Diploma in Fine Arts and was entitled with the Meisterschüler in the class of Stan Douglas & Hito Steyerl.

 

In 2008 she earned a Meisterschüler in Fine Arts being awarded with the Meisterschüler prize of distinction by the UdK-Berlin.

 

During her studies in Berlin and in the following years she has been entitled with several grants and artist residencies and has exhibited her work in Canada, Australia, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and Germany.
